Pelican Marsh Recreation & Amenities

Pelican Marsh offers residents many amenities to keep physically, mentally and socially engaged throughout the year.

While access to the white sand beaches of the Gulf of Mexico provide one of the community's greatest attractions, the Cocohatchee Strand nature preserve which winds throughout the Pelican Marsh is home to an array of birds, alligators and other wildlife. It also provides miles of nature trails for biking, jogging, and walking.

The Pelican Marsh Community Center is available to all residents and features a fitness center, massage therapy rooms, an aerobics - assembly room where exercise classes, a bridge club, a book club, & computer classes are held. Likewise, the Pelican Marsh Tennis Club lcated at Center Court, adjacent to the community center, offers a world-class tennis facility complete with pro shop. The club also has a full-time tennis director to provide both group and individual instruction, coordinate a full schedule of tournaments & related special events.

Pelican Marsh Golf Club

For additional diversions, residents have the option to join the Pelican Marsh Golf Club, which offers a variety of memberships from which to choose. The 25,000 square foot Pelican Marsh Clubhouse overlooks the 18th green and provides the focal point of the club. This facility includes a pro shop, locker rooms and lounges, casual and formal dining, and an upstairs mixed grille with an open air terrace.

World-renowned architect Robert von Hagge created the par 72 championship golf course that is pleasing the eye & challenging for players of all levels. Named one of the top three courses for the 2000 and 2001 Senior PGA Tour, this course is different than any other layout in southwest Florida because of its significant elevation changes. From tee to green, some holes feature as much as thirty feet in elevation change. The fairways are fairly restrictive with a defined cut of rough on their borders. There are winding lakes and flowering marshes that come into play several times. The greens vary in size and undulation, and there are many large mounds on the fairways.
